This Passage highlights God’s character as a righteous
judge. In comparison to previous parts of Joel, we see God
as: “gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in
steadfast love; and he relents over disaster." (Joel 2:13) Today,
we’ll see that those who unrepentantly abuse God’s people, then and
now, are those who incur God’s perfect justice. We also see
that to sin against God’s people is to sin against God
Himself. This is wonderful news for God’s people, and a
sobering truth for those who refuse God and abuse His
people.

Psalm 37:27-31
“Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell
forever. For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his
saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked
shall be cut off.
The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it
forever. The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his
tongue speaks justice. The law of his God is in his heart; his
steps do not slip.”
